?s ?p "The group of eight to nine burial mounds in the BraTndholz forest south of Gündlingen has been known since the beginning of the 19th century. At the time of the excavation in 1885, mound B still had a diameter of approx. 30 m and a height of approx. 1 m. 1.6 m to the north-west of the centre of the mound, a Hallstatt Period sword and a chape were discovered at a depth of 0.5 m. No vessels could be reconstructed from pottery sherds found nearby. Bones from the presumed inhumation burial were not preserved. 2 – 3 m east of the centre of the mound, at a depth of approx. 1m, the excavators detected charcoal, ash and calcinated bone fragments, as well as numerous pottery sherds allowing the reconstruction of vessel units.
