P O Bei Herten, heute Stadtteil von Rheinfelden (Landkreis Lörrach), lag im Gewann „Weberalten“ ein großes Reihengräberfeld. Es war in einem Hauptfriedhof und zwei Nebenfriedhöfe unterteilt. In den Jahren 1887 und 1889 erfolgte im südöstlichen Teil des Hauptfriedhofs eine systematische Ausgrabung. Dabei wurde Grab 46 untersucht. Das Grab eines Mädchens befand sich in einer Tiefe von 1,25 Metern. Eine Perle aus Perlmutt (C 5918 b) wurde am Hals entdeckt. Auf der Brust lag eine aus 17 Perlen bestehende Kette (C 5919 b). Eine Haarnadel aus Bronze (C 5919 c) wurde in der Nähe des Kopfes gefunden. An den Füßen konnte ein Glasgefäß (C 5918) geborgen werden. Weitere Beigaben waren ein Bärenzahn (C 5919 e), der wahrscheinlich als Amulett gedient hatte, sowie Reste von Eisen, Bronze und Gewebe (C 5919 d), die möglicherweise den Inhalt einer Tasche bildeten.. P O A large row grave cemetery was detected in the municipal parcel of „Weberalten“ near Herten, which is today a part of Rheinfelden (district of Lörrach). It was subdivided into a main cemetery and two minor cemeteries. In 1887 and 1889, systematic excavations were conducted in the southeastern part of the main cemetery, including the investigation of grave 46. This burial of a girl lay at a depth of 1.25 m. A pearl (C 5918 b) was discovered at the neck, while a necklace (C 5919 b) consisting of 17 beads lay on the girl’s chest. Moreover, a bronze hair pin (C 5919 c) was found near the head, and a glass vessel (C 5918) could be recovered near the feet. Further grave goods included a bear’s tooth (C 5919 e) which had probably served as an amulet, as well as remains of iron, bronze and fabric (C 5919 d) which may represent the contents of a bag.
